I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to be accepted as a Huffington Post contributor this month. I pitched my idea – writing articles on the subject of applied colour psychology in relation to business branding, marketing, products and business interiors. They said they didn’t have one of those – yes we are a rare breed.

the colour of superstition – black friday
If you are superstitious, then today is the day you’ll be watching your every move from keeping your fingers crossed, knocking on wood to avoiding crossing paths with a black cat. And there’s even a name for those with a morbid, irrational fear of Friday the 13th – it’s friggatriskaidekaphobics. No I don’t know how to pronounce it either.
Friday 13th also known as Black Friday (in western cultures) is considered the day of bad luck.
Techno Colour – bland gadgets have been eclipsed by a rainbow say The Independent
Last week Simon Usborne from The Independent called to ask me about my views on the proliferation of colour in the gadget market. I had no idea want was coming but I knew whatever it was, it was going to be big.
This week saw the release of the cheaper iPhone 5C (“c” for colour) which comes in yellow, green, blue and red and the more expensive 5S which comes in gold, white and ‘space grey’. Very interesting colour choices, but more about that later.
why the big brands fiercely protect their brand colours and what that means for you
If I asked you to name the company that uses purple to wrap their chocolates, or the maker or the red soled shoes, could you? Or the company behind the robin egg blue box? My guess is if you have come across these brands you’d know exactly who they were just by their brand colour.

ColourMatch from argos personality test to add personality and colour to your home

Following on from that I worked closely with the team at ColourMatch to create a fun way to find the colours that match your personality for you to use in your home.
