interiors – turning your bedside table into a style statement

Interiors - bedside tables.

What would we do without the humble bedside table, laden with collections of things we love to have close at hand.  Besides being both functional and practical, they can also be a statement piece, something unique that adds character and personality to the space.

Whilst researching options for a client’s project, I’ve picked out five bedside tables that will definitely add  personality and style.  Some are definitely more practical than others.

Wall mounted, space saving. Having furniture off the floor creates the illusion of space.

Interiors - wooden block bedside table. This opens a new browser window.

Rustic charm. Works perfectly with the Zen minimalist feel.

Juxtaposed. Using an item for a completely different purpose. Creates a quirky feel.

Dual purpose. A practical, unusual table whilst still doubling up as storage. A great way to save space.

Interiors - ladder bedside table. This opens a new browser window.

A stylish way to display your collections, books, jewellery, even the light has a place.

Have you used anything unusual as your bedside tables?

I love the use of the suitcases – both stylish and practical. I always have one or two books on the go, so it’s important to me that they’re close at hand, so that I can read a couple of chapters at night. Thanks for sharing all the different, quirky images. Great for future inspiration.

      Hi Felicity,

The suitcases are a great idea. I love how they turn something that takes up space into a practical and stylish storage solution. Ideal for homes that are short on space.

    These examples are great inspiration.

I’m creating new bedside tables for my bedroom at the moment, using replica naval letter holders that I picked up on ebay. I’m going to wall mount them underneath lamps.

I love the idea of using different things for the purpose so the ladder idea really appeals to me as well.

Oh that sounds like a great idea. They will definitely add personal style statement to your bedroom.

A ladder is a great way to create a display of things you may usually have tucked away that you may even forget you have e.g. scarves, jewellery, belts ….

      Have fun creating!

Hi there- really like the DIY nightstand using a dark brown ladder. Any idea where I could buy this from in the UK? Thank you!
