Blog Post Re-ignite your business through colour

An American interior designer called me last week and she was sharing with me her colour journey which is reflective of so many designers I’ve been working with over the years.

Make Yourself At Home with colour

Get Living London_Make yourself at home campaign_Karen Haller

For the past couple of months working alongside one of my clients Get Living London (GLL), which rents and manages homes in East Village E20, we’ve been looking at how people in Britain use colour in their homes to promote GLL’s unique offering of allowing their residents to paint and decorate their homes.

In recent years, there’s been a trend towards white washed walls and neutrals. Whilst these plain palettes may be easy on the eye, white washing our homes may in fact be stripping away our personality.

Why women need to reclaim their relationship with pink

Why women need to reclaim their relationship with pink

As a colour psychology specialist, one of the things I love to do is to observe the impact that colour choices have on our behaviour both as individuals but also as a society.

When you become aware that colour has this kind of impact, you’ll become even more aware of the colours you choose to express yourself.

Colour Professionals – Get ready to ride the next colour wave

Everything comes in waves, in cycles. Fashion designers, economists and historians will attest to this and looking back through the history of colour use in society so do I. That being the case I thought it would be an interesting exercise to chart how the wave of colour has ebbed and flowed over the past decade and, more importantly, where we are now in relation to current colour thinking.

What’s behind Pantone’s dual colour of the year

Pantone Colour of the Year 2016

At the beginning of every year we find ourselves awash with countless colour trend predictions, forecasts and colour of the year. This year was no exception, but there was one unusual thing that caught everyone by surprise – for the first time one company announced dual colours of the year.

Have you caught the colouring in bug yet?

Blog Post - Have you caught the colouring in bug yet

My neighbourhood is full of cafés. And recently there’s been a wonderful buzz of activity – adults colouring in. It seems to have become quite a phenomenon that’s sweeping the world.

There are literally hundreds of colouring in books for adults in book stores and stationery shops and with millions sold there must be something to it.

The next big thing? Colour

Have you ever thought about where the next big thing comes from? Usually, it’s from the shadows. It’s been there all along, but it’s blended in with the scenery and no one has paid it any special attention.

But then something shifts and the spotlight gets turned on it – and its possibilities. It happens in fashion, architecture, and the world of interior design too.

Is Your Client Chromophobic?

Is your client chromophobic

If you’re an architect, interior designer, or in fact any design professional, then September in London means one thing – London Design Week. This year I was honoured to be asked to help co-curate the four colour talk programme at 100% Design.

Other than the two times I was on stage taking part in talks myself, I was sitting front row for most of the other speakers. We had such a high-calibre line up of colour experts, I really wanted to soak up what they had to say.

100% Design colour talks programme in collaboration with Karen Haller

How exciting, London Design Week is almost upon us. When London immerses itself in all things design, attracting creative minds from around the world.

I’ve been busy working behind the scenes on the 100% Design colour talks programme. I can’t believe it was back in March, by a chance meeting at another colour event (Sean Rogg’s founder of The Waldorf Project with his sensory and intriguing Chapter Two: ‘Colour’) when I met the lovely Claire Barrett from Caro Communications.
