It’s the end of another year and I’m always excited to see which blogs were the most popular with my readers. Checking Google Analytics below is the list of the 10 most popular posts.
It’s really interesting to see what my blog readers found of interest. There’s a great mix of business interiors, business branding and of course the Olympic games… yet all relating to colour! So from 10 to 1 here they are…
On Friday I headed off to what is becoming an annual event for me, listening to the engaging and interesting AkzoNobel colour expert, Per Nimer, discussing futures trends in colour. It is at this talk where Per also announces the coming year’s trend colour.
Last month I featured Pantone’s colour of the year Tangerine Tango and blogged about all things orange. This month it’s Dulux’s turn. Their colour of the year is called Firecracker 4. A hue Dulux describe as a “blushing, lively juicy red”.
I always get excited at the end of the year as I know the major forecasting companies are about to announce their colours for the coming year. For 2012 I’m looking at Pantone and I’m not at all surprised by their predication.
We all have a favourite colour, a colour that makes our heart sing! Well here’s your chance to own and name your favourite colour and help support Unicef, a very worthy cause. All for as little as a £1.
Paint companies are all about selling colour. So how do they make sure their colours attract the right customer target market and ultimately make those all important sales.
This is part of the colour & design surgery series, answering questions from clients and readers.
This month is slightly different as I’ve had a burning question myself …
Have you noticed over the years how paint names have been getting more emotive, fanciful and sometimes just plain silly…? I was really curious how paint companies choose their colour names. Given that I work with the personality, whether that is a business or a person, I suspected this may be part of the story with paint companies too.
Each year ICI ColourFutures™ presents their colour of the year based on one dominant trend. The trend for 2011 is ‘Appreciation’ and the colour they believe “best sums up the prevailing mood, attitude and fashion of the time” is Yellow!
When it comes to Let’s Colour, Grey is definitely out. They are passionate about bringing colour into our lives. They have travelled the world, working with local communities to spread the colour word – UK, Turkey, India, Brazil and France.
Here’s the final video, the Director’s cut. Truly inspirational. Enjoy!
